Power Restoration for Typhoon TINO and UWAN
More lineworkers suited up for Task Force Kapatid (TFK) as post-typhoon power distribution line rehabilitations continue in areas devastated by Typhoons ‘Tino’ and ‘Uwan’ earlier this month.
In total, the NEA in partnership with the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association (PHILRECA) deployed 494 lineworkers from 71 ECs nationwide to hasten the repair of damaged power distribution facilities in the wake of consecutive storms.
In the aftermath of Typhoon ‘Tino,’ 21 ECs assembled teams composed of 191 personnel to assist CELCO (Camotes Island), DORELCO (Leyte), NOCECO (Negros Occidental), NONECO (Northern Negros) and SOLECO (Southern Leyte).
While for Super Typhoon ‘Uwan,’ 50 ECs sent TFK teams consisting of 303 linemen to support ALECO (Albay), AURELCO (Aurora), CASURECO IV (Camarines Sur), FICELCO (Catanduanes), ISELCO I (Isabela), NUVELCO (Nueva Vizcaya) and QUIRELCO (Quirino).
As of Tuesday afternoon, 18 November 2025, the NEA Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (DRRMD) said that 147,079 households await electricity reconnection in the areas battered by ‘Tino 508,874 households affected by ‘Uwan’

Reason: Outage of the Amlan – San Carlos 69kV line at 7:31AM. The Bindoy-San Carlos 69kV line section remain isolated.

NGCP Earthquake Advisory as of 11PM, 30 September 2025
NGCP is still assessing the extent of the damage brought about by the earthquake which occured at 9:59PM, 30 September. The earthquake caused the separation of Leyte, Samar, and portion of Bohol grid from the Cebu-Negros-Panay-Bohol grid. As of 11PM, NGCP identified damage to its Daanbantayan Substation, located near the earthquake epicenter, and recorded the tripping of four (4) 230kV transmission lines in Visayas. Power plants in Cebu namely: TVI, CEDC, KSPC, TPC1A and PGPP1 in Negros tripped with total plant load isolated at 641MW.
Aerial and foot inspection and restoration of lines in the affected areas will be in full swing as soon as the situation allows, as there are still aftershocks in the area.
NGCP will issue updates every 4 hours until transmission services are fully restored.

Latest forecast from state weather bureau PAGASA showed that “Opong” affects weather conditions across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao with many provinces in all island groups already placed under tropical cyclone wind signals no. 1, 2 and 3.
The NEA-DRRMD already advised all affected ECs to take appropriate contingency measures to mitigate the impact of this weather disturbance.
